A Fine Day

On Monday, we had a fine day. We started off in Park City, and ended up seeing friends from Rexburg (the Horners), Kelsey Nixon (we are fans), and the Sister Missionaries who changed our lives.

If you watched "The Next Food Network Star" this is Kelsey Nixon (fan favorite). I saw her in Banana Republic on Monday and I love her more for having met her in person. She was kinder than I could have imagined, and her new husband was just as good. Her Mom told me that Kelsey was working with Bobby Flay (Iron Chef)on a new TV show for her. Her husband is getting his degree in Advertising, so they want to live in New York City.

I think that she was robbed and should have been the Next Food Network Star. I also love that she is a BYU Grad, and a great representative for the Church. Go Kelsey.

We traveled to Park City, UT for the Labor Day Festivities. We were caught in the iciest rain storm (okay maybe it was not the iciest, but when one believes that it is still summer, and during that perceived summer is pelted by ice rain, it is felt to be colder than if one had been adequetely prepared).

We had heard that there was a Miner's Day Parade...

But there weren't that many people there. Rain Storms can be quite the deterent.

We went to the City Park for the breakfast, but we did not want to pay $6.00 for leftovers. It was on our hike back that we were bombarded. Poor Sarah. Thankfully, Drew had grabbed a winter coat that I had thought was a little much for our excursion. Good, wise, Dad.

We were saved by the missionaries in the Family History/Visitor's Center on Main Street. This is Sarah warming up, and playing with one of the blocks there.

They did not merely warm our toes, but our testimonies, as they bore powerful witness of Family History work.

I always thought that my work was mostly done because of the Aunt Lizas and Grandma Walkers of my life who saved our family. Yet, I feel to do more, because it will save me.

I'm impressed that you recognized Kelsey. I watched it a couple of times, but I don't think I would have known her had I met her on the street.

Um, and happy miners' day!
