A Shout Out to the General Relief Society Broadcast

It is fun to be in Salt Lake City on Conference Weekend.  Happy saints and aunts and uncles and cousins and brothers and sisters and mission companions and general authorities and translators and others converge from around the world for a chance to feel the power of gathering: and actually sit in the same building as the Prophet.  You can feel it.

I wonder if this is how the Saints felt as converts poured in from around the world, infusing Salt Lake with an injection of faith.

Living here, I must say that Salt Lake could use some faith.

Before Conference Weekend begins (anticipation, anticipation), I just have to give a quick 'shout out' to President Julie B. Beck and her talk at the General Relief Society Broadcast.  I have been listening to it several times a day since it aired.  http://www.lds.org/broadcast/grsm/0,6220,285,00.html

It was power and revelation.  Those words might have been said before, but when she said them, I wanted to help Relief Society fulfill its divine mission.  I felt empowered to do so.  You told me how to do it (speaking to President Beck as if she were here).  It was prophetic.  Thank you Sister Beck.

I always feel a little sad to not be in Salt Lake during Conference. Enjoy it for me!

Can you believe I lived four hours away from Salt Lake 5/6th of my life and I NEVER went to Conference? I wish I would have. I loved the Relief Society meeting, too--especially President Uchtdorf's talk.
