Any ideas for a husbandless week?

Andrew is leaving for China from May 2-9.  I do not know what to do with myself and Sarah while he is gone.  She is only two, so I am not tied to any schedule of hers...or mine.

I miss him already.  Any adventure that I can think of does not sound as fun without him.

Darn you, Drew, for being so great.

Go visit siblings, or parents or something like that! Even if its just up to ID...that's what I'd do.

Search out the fellow moms in your ward who might need a break and invite them to drop their kid(s) off, even for just an hour or two. Adam is headed to Homer for four days next week and we've already got three play dates lined up so we won't go nutso. Oddly enough, sometimes it's easier with more kids around - they start entertaining themselves.

And also, you could get someone to return the favor and then go shopping or take yourself out for a little you time. If we were closer, I would volunteer. That Sarah is sure a cutie!!

Hope Drew has a good trip.

I wish i could give you some suggestions, but after 10 years of spending most the time husbandless it's pretty much well just normal life and i can't think of anything fun/creative.

Hey Candice... that wasn't my wedding picture. I was too tired last night to scan one of my own, so I just took one off google images. I wish I had one like that though. Alas, professional photographers cost a pretty penny that we did not have. Probably another one of Emily Post's rules that I broke.
This doesn't help with activities during the daytime, but when my husband travels I always end up doing some secret project... painting a room, moving furniture around, framing some pictures, planning a welcome home adventure...

oh...and you aked about my daughter - she's not deaf but goes to a deaf preschool program as a community student. They have her sort of like a model of appropriate language development (ASL and English) to help the other kids. I sign at home with her too. It's been great! And it's at the school where I work so I keep my work hours to just during the times she's at preschool.
