Andrew came home from work one day and said, "I need a break!"
He did.
Andrew is a crazy hard worker; the kind that never calls in sick, and works extra hours and even Saturdays. He did need a break.
We had a week to plan his vacation. He came home with the idea of a "Stay-cation". We had amassed a plethora of free tickets to Raging Waters, Boondocks, $70 in free movie tickets, and $100 credit at Cabellas. It was also the week of the 24th of July (Go Mormon Pioneers!) and the Days of '47 festivities would be on.
So instead of a vacation to the Bahamas, we had a STAY-CATION to Utah.
We loved it.
Our favorites: The Martin Handcart Pageant in Nephi, UT. I found out that there are still small towns that are friendly, hardworking, proud of their pioneer ancestry, and live their religion.
Boondocks. It looked cheesy as in Chucky Cheeses cheesy, but we had a blast playing Laser Tag and driving the bumper cars.
The Days of '47 Parade. We got to see the Prophet in a cowboy hat. It was great just to see him. The floats were amazing. I could not believe that Stakes would put together such innovative floats. In Rexburg, we would just put banners on the sides of our trucks, stand in them and wave. This was a different level of parade. Go Utah.
