Update: the dog day 3

As I mentioned in a previous post, I know nothing about dogs, and I have never loved a dog.  I had always looked with skepticism on animal owners who made the pet a true member of the family.

Now I know a little about dogs, and I love this dog.

I feel that Heavenly Father loves me, and sent me a dog that happened to be trained, follows me with devotion wherever I go, and has never barked.  She is a submissive, loving dog.  I did not have to do anything in the way of training.

I feel for her a little how I felt when Sarah was first born (to a lesser degree of course).  I think about her and worry about her and plan her days, and rejoice over her bowel movements, and take note of everything she eats and drinks.  I am a little crazy.

She is a pit bull.   However, she has not shown an ounce of aggression towards anyone, and Sarah loves to lay down and be with her.  Dayton the dog is still a little downtrodden from her past life, but she is getting better.  She has been a happy addition to our family.

I feel that even though we have not yet been able to have another child, Heavenly Father has sent another companion for Team Rail and especially for me.

it's funny to hear you talk about how much you do not like dogs & than all of a sudden you have one & you love her. It makes me smile, because I, for one, have always been a dog lover & it makes me sad when I hear of others who do not care for & or ever want a dog. Our doggy, has definately helped fill a void in Mike & I's life & is definately a memeber of our family :) It's crazy how they weasle themselves into a place in your heart that you just can't let go :)

I'm still thinking it's funny you have a dog. I have a monkey, named Sevy, and she breaks things! To answer your questions: we have bricks because they give them to you when you buy your house just in case you ever have projects and need to match your house. It would be handy if we were building on or had enough room for a bbq pit, but as it is, it's just a big pile that is a pain to move. Question 2: Jon works on cadavers for anatomy. They have to understand everything like doctors have to because they are a type of doctor. I think it's weird, but he loves it and finds it absolutely fascinating. Okay, those were your only questions, right? By the way, I do have glasses (x-mas picture comment), but I prefer to use contacts because I see better and feel less of a hazard on the road! Love you and good luck with the dog!

I've always thought it was strange when people didn't love their animals like family. I had never encountered this till I moved out West. Ranch people, for whatever reason, always have a bunch of dogs and cats... so you would think they like them, but they don't! Weird. I always say, if you don't like cats... it's because you have not met the right one. I guess you finally met the right dog. I have a deal with Noodle that he needs to live till he's 81. I just need (yes need) him to.

That is so great! I think pit bulls get a bad rap. Yes...pets can definitely wiggle their way into your heart. Glad you have found one that fits with your family, and it's a bonus when they are already trained!

Apparently someone was watching out for you and your new doggy daughter. It sounds like a match was made in heaven. Keep enjoying her...she will give back to you all you give her and then some.

It's amazing what a nice dog can do for a family!! How lucky you are to not have to do any training.

I for one am, I think, as incredibly happy as you are. I think I may be even more so. I have every confidence in you and your abilities - I have the impression that you love well, and that's really all it takes!!! Yea!

I love that you love you're dog! I want a dog but I couldn't leave one home alone for my 13-hour shifts. Hence my cat, which I'm trying to train to be like a dog. Love you're stories. Oh.. and Andrew is on his mission to Ogden. He's almost you're neighbor.

Yeah!! I'm so glad things are going so well with your dog! And it's so nice when they come trained, lexie was trained when we got her, and now with max i'm getting to see all the things that i thankfully missed out with her, but everytime he does something bad i can never stay mad more then 5 seconds cuz he turns up them big brown puppy eyes and i'm done in!
Pitbulls get a bad rap most time. We had a pitbull for a couple months, that scott had rescued at a truck stop and he was a great dog very loving, unfortuantely the place we lived at the time the managers had a fit even after the owners said we could keep him so they made us give him up :(

How fun! Josh wants to get a dog for Paige. She LOVES playing with them. I'm not a big animal person like my sisters are. They both LOVE doggies. But I don't hate animals either. I think one of these days Josh and I will get one, and I will love it! Hopefully I'll be as lucky as you and get one that's already trained! That's nice!

I'm so happy you love her! I feel the same way about our dog. She's my little companion.
That's awesome! A dog that's already trained sounds heavenly. I could handle a dog if it was already trained!! Glad to hear Sarah is loving her. Can't wait to meet this family addition.
