Soldier Hollow

Youth Winter Activity 2009

Apparently they held Olympic events here.
Now it is the Celestial Kingdom of tubing.

And cross-country skiing (which I got no pictures of-I was enjoying it too much).

The weather was perfection.

The youth loved it.

So did I.  Especially the rope-tow part.  In the youth activities of my yester-year, we had to haul our tires up the hills ourselves.  Hooray for progress.

They didn't have to haul themselves back up the hill!? How in the world will they build character?? :)

P.S. You mentioned a few days ago that you feel intimidated by my smart witty blog pals (me too, sometimes), so I have to tell you something. I love all these women that I've met through blogging. But there's nothing quite like getting a comment from someone I actually know. Every time you comment, I holler for Adam to come and see what you have to say. So comment away!

Oh my gosh, being a leader of the youth has such great benefits..That tubing hill looks fun...I hear it is..When I was younger it was make your own trail down someones dry-farm hill and walk yourself back up. I like the tow rope idea.
Hey - we wanted to try that when we were in SLC this year...maybe next year. Looks like my kind of snow fun! You have the best activities! I can only imagine how much fun those girls have with you.

I love that first picture of Sarah.

The rope tow is an excellent idea! I don't see why my dad couldn't have put one of those in our backyard.

Candice! It's Shannon from the ward. I found your blog on Rachel's... The tubing looks like a blast!

You'll have to facebook or email me your email address, so I can invite you to our blog.

Also, we are thinking about starting a book club and hear you might be interested? Au revoir!
