July 24

After today, Andrew thought that we might be more moderate in our Saturday activities. But today was special. It was July 24: one of the best reasons to live in a town settled by Pioneers.

This is us before trekking to the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade.
And then we arose early for the Sunrise Service at the Tabernacle. Elder Jenson of the Seventy spoke. I am now a fan of the International Children's Choir. Excellent. I wonder if Sarah or Steele will be talented enough to join?
Our best looking Apostle at the Day's of '47 Parade. If I were ever on the planning committee I would make the parade at 7:00 a.m., instead of 9:00 a.m. It was HOT.
On July 24, The Red Butte Gardens are free. We had never been. It was surprisingly beautiful, uncrowded (even on the free day) and peaceful. I loved it.

Then we topped it off for our free birthday dinner at Benihanas. Did you know that they give you $30 in free food, plus ice cream and a picture with the chef, all for coming during your birthday month? (I think that you need the coupon).
We ended the Pioneer Day with a fried food party at Jordan and Bubba's, and a little Battlestar Galactica to fall to sleep by. Maybe it was a little much, but we loved it.
