A Windless Day

In our last post you might notice Sarah and Steele grasping onto kites that Granny and Papa had given them. Alas those kites would not fly in the torrential rain. No, we did not even try.
They asked us every day if they could fly them, so we took them out for Family Home Evening.
What are the odds that the least windy day in the third windiest spot in the U.S. happened to fall on that particular Monday?
But, we waited for breezes and ran like crazy.  And they flew...kind of.
The kids were exhausted but happy as they sat by the chapel while they cuddled up to Dad as he gave the lesson.  He used his phone to show a slideshow about a little girl named May who kept the Sabbath day holy.

I have to note that while we were walking we passed two groups of kids who had set up their own little businesses selling bracelets and other things.  We did not have any money on our walk, and those sweet kids said, "that's okay, you can just pick something for free.  Setting up your own business is so easy."  They handed us some used sidewalk chalk, and two well loved red cars.  We need to remember to bring change on our walks.

The kites eventually flew, but I was more grateful for the windless day, sweet little business people, a good Dad, and a girl named May who taught us how to be the best kind of people.
